ESPN the Magazine came out with their annual rankings of the major 4 professional sports franchises. This year 122 teams were graded on many different catagories. Teams were graded on win/loss rankings, players/coaches interaction with fans...many various areas. Ranking 1st this year, the defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers...congrats.
The Cincinnati Reds did well. 15th overall, which is not bad for an organization that normally ranks in the 50s or higher. Being the NL Central Champions last season didnt hurt, neitehr does the great young talent on the roster. Joey Votto and Jay Bruce lead, what looks to be, a bright future.
Other other hand, the Reds neighbors, the Cincinnati Bengals, did not fair as well. The Bengals rankedf dead last, 122nd out of 122 in this years rankings. The teams lack of past success, lack of bright future, compounded with the poor perception of the team around the country makes the Orange and Black last. Anotehr sad moment for Mike Brown and the fans of this team.
I always say Bengal fans are some of the best in sports, simply because they are Bengal fans, and admit to it. It takes guts, and you know it. The real problem is, Mike Brown doesnt care. 1st or last, he is indifferent and the anchor keeping the organization docked at the shore. I could deal with it more if he cared, but we all know he doesnt. As the quote goes, "Ignorance or apathy? I dont know, and I dont care."
