Clint Bowyer wins the Sprint Cup Race at Talladega: The soon to be vacated #33 of Clint Bowyer won the “Good Sam Club 500” Sprint Cup Series race at Talladega Superspeedway for his 5th career win and 1st of the season. The win is also the 100th win for Richard Childress Racing.
#31 Jeff Burton was leading at the white flag, #33 Clint Bowyer was his partner and pushing, Bowyer moved over on the tri-oval to pass Burton and they had a drag race to the start-finish line with Bowyer winning.
#31 Jeff Burton finished 2nd [his first top 5 of the season] followed by #36 Dave Blaney, #2 Brad Keselowski, #83 Brian Vickers, #4 Kasey Kahne, #14 Tony Stewart, #11 Denny Hamlin, #15 Michael Waltrip and #56 Martin Truex Jr. Pole sitter #5 Mark Martin led 2 laps, was involved in a late wreck and finished 20th.
#78 Regan Smith was involved in a nasty wreck where he went head first into the wall, but walked away ok, but a fuel fire occurred at Furniture
Row Racing's hauler, with some scary flames, but the first was put out fast and no major damage or injuries.
#99 Carl Edwards leads the Chase by 14 points over #17 Matt Kenseth.

Mike Wallace wins Camping World Truck Series race at Talladega: An impressive two-truck tandem run between KHI teammates, saw #33 Mike Wallace take the checkers first to win the “Coca-Cola 250 Powered by fred's” at Talladega Superspeedway. This is Wallace's lone start and first win in 2011; his 5th series overall. His last win was at Mesa Marin in 2000. #2 Ron Hornaday Jr, unable to make the switch, finished in second place. #3 Austin Dillon was running in
tandem with the #18, right there with Wallace & Hornaday, but with during a caution with just a handful of laps remaining, the #3 was sent back to the 18th position by NASCAR for not maintaining speed. Dillon finished 7th. The rest of the top ten; #31 James Buescher, #4 Ricky Carmichael, #23 Jason White, #5 Todd Bodine, #3 Austin Dillon, #62 Brendan Gaughan, #18 Kyle Busch, #9 Max Papis.
