It’s MotorCity Madness for Hamlin in Michigan: #11 Denny Hamlin won the “Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips 400” Sprint Cup Series race at Michigan International Speedway for his 1st win of 2011 and 17th win of his career. He took the lead during the final pit stops of the race and held off #17 Matt Kenseth at the checkered flag. Matt Kenseth finished second, followed by #18 Kyle Busch, #27 Paul Menard, #99 Carl Edwards, #39 Ryan Newman, #14 Tony Stewart, #33 Clint Bowyer, #5 Mark Martin, and #83 Brian Vickers. Carl Edwards expanded his point lead to 20 and the #29 Kevin Harvick is now in second after an early spin by #48 Jimmy Johnson and a 27th place finish.
There were 21 lead changes among 12 drivers; 5 cautions for 18 yellow flag laps.
