NFL Week 1 review...Ohio teams
by Mark Neal,posted Sep 11 2012 3:27PM
It wasn't the best week for the Ohio NFL teams. Cleveland loses by 1 to the Eagles in final minutes, while Cincinnati was blown out by my Super Bowl prediction, the Ravens. Each team has things to work on for Week 2 when they play, well, each other at Paul Brown Stadium.
Cleveland's offense is still horrible! Brandon Weeden had as bad a game as he could have ever expected Sunday, completing around 1/3 of his passes, while throwing 4 picks. Things can only get better for the rookie QB, we hope. 3rd overall pick Trent Richardson struggled as well, averaging around 2 yards per carry. He isn't 100%, and it showed. Richardson will be a force, just not yet, and especially on that team. The defense was great, but will have no Joe Haden soon, for 4 games. He is a very good CB, with Pro Bowl ability. Oh well, there is always next year Browns fans...even though we have said that for a long time now.
Cincinnati was just throtled last night by the Ravens on national TV. They won't be the only team to have that done to them by my Super Bowl prediction out of Baltimore. AJ Green was active early, but until real threat shows up on the otehr side, it is going to be tough to get AJ the ball a lot. He will double covered all year long. This team is talented, but needs time to gel, and get healthy. On a positive note, the Law firm looked solid in his 1st game in orange and black. If they can get something out of the ground game, namely Green-Ellis, the team will benefit greatly.
