No Respect for Dayton

Well, every year, the Sporting News comes out with their list of the best sports towns in America...and every year they disrespect the Gem City. As usual, the Sporting News has Dayton as the 140th best sports town, which is ludicris. Whether it be selling out every Dayton Dragon game for a decade, hosting the NCAA tournament every year, or supporting the Flyers and Raiders, Dayton is a sports town among the best.
The Dragons are about to break the record for consecutive sellouts, surpassing the record set by the Portland Trailblazers. A reord that took nearly to two decades to compile. UD Arena has hosted 83 NCAA Tournament games, tying it with Kansas City's Municipal Arena for the most...which will be broken this coming March as the arena is scheduled to host four "Opening Round" games.

The biggest slap in the face is the list of Ohio towns ahead of Dayton...#16 Cincinnati, #28 Cleveland, and #38 Columbus, I will give you. How about #98 Athens...get serious. The students dont even go to the football or basketball games. #112 Kent...Im not even gonna say it. #116 Bowling Green...once again, I will resist the urge to compare Dayton and Bowling Green. How does #117 Akron or #126 Oxford sound? Better than the Gem City? NEVER!!!

Dayton is a Top 50 sports town in America in my opinion. I am lucky enough to host a talk show in this town, and can say from experience, the listeners are as knowledgable as any, anywhere. Enough with the Dayton dispespect.

Wow
Two posts in a week? Good thing baseball kept you from hosting your show all five days or you'd probably have to spend all weekend recoving from such hard, in depth thought.

I understand this is Ohio and everyone here is in awe of everything Ohio State does. I'm pretty sure Jim Tressel could walk onto the sidelines wearing absolutely nothing and fans would call him "innovative" for "distracting the opponent." Or something. That said, I'm confused as to what Terrelle Pryor has done that makes him the "biggest threat under center in (C)ollege (F)ootball (for future reference Marky, those words aren't capitalized). I don't watch a ton of college football, but even I know Denard Robinson of Michigan is leading pretty much every Heisman watch list right now. I know he goes to Michigan - I'm trying to pretend like you're an unbiased sports fan, so stay with me. More rushing yards, more passing yards, and TWO BCS-caliber teams (ND and UConn) as opposed to a team that blew a 14-point 4th quarter lead at home to West Virginia and "in-state-MAC-weakling-du-jour." So he beat Miami. At home. Woo hoo. Va Tech lost to James Madison and Clemson gave away the game against Auburn. The ACC isn't very good. So don't give me that talk about Pryor. Give me Robinson instead.
