Kyle Busch wins the Sprint Cup Race at Michigan: #18 Kyle Busch won the “Pure Michigan 400” Sprint Cup Series race at Michigan International Speedway for his 23rd career win and 4th win of 2011. The 23 wins ties him with his brother Kurt and Ricky Rudd for 20th all time ranking of all time wins. Kyle Busch clinches a place in the chase, at least via a wild card spot. The race had one green-white-checkered run, increasing the race to 203 laps.
#48 Jimmie Johnson finished 2nd followed by #2 Brad Keselowski [last three races, #5 Mark Martin, #39 Ryan Newman, #24 Jeff Gordon, #4 Kasey Kahne, #33 Clint Bowyer, #14 Toney Stewart and #17 Matt Kenseth.
Points leader going in to the race, #18 Kyle Busch, won the race and increased his points lead to 10 over #48 Jimmie Johnson.
There were 20 lead changes among 10 drivers and 5 cautions for 21 yellow flag laps.

Marcos Ambrose wins Nationwide Series race at Montreal: #9 Marcos Ambrose, running his only Nationwide race of the season, won the “NAPA Auto Parts 200” at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. It is the 4th Nationwide Series win of his career and his first at Montreal. #12 Alex Tagliani finished second, followed by #18 Michael McDowell, #66 Steve Wallace, #67 J.R. Fitzpatrick, #33 Scott Speed, #60 Carl Edwards, #31 Justin Allgaier, #38 Jason Leffler, and #2 Elliott Sadler. There were 6 cautions for 17 laps and 10 lead changes among 7 leaders.
Kevin Harvick wins the Camping World Truck Series at Michigan: A late-race dive to the bottom saw #2 Kevin Harvick take the lead, hold on through two more restarts, to win the “VFW 200” at Michigan International Speedway. This is his second victory this season; his eleventh overall. Kevin Harvick became the first driver to win in all three major NASCAR series events at MIS with victories in the Truck, Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series. With just 15 to go, #13 Johnny Sauter got loose and hit the inside wall. Bad day for many teams -- the top three trucks on a lap 12 restart were all involved in a multi-car wreck when #29 Parker Kligerman got loose, turning Mark Martin; and collecting #3 Austin Dillon in the mess. Both Kligerman and Dillon sustained significant damage. #18 Kyle Busch had a DNF after picking up debris on the track and punching a hole in the radiator. He finished 25th. On the final lap #8 Nelson Piquet Jr. while running fourth, got loose and ended up hitting the inside wall. He finished 16th. Rounding out the top ten were; #17-Timothy Peters, #7 Miguel Paludo, #31 James Buescher, #81 David Starr, #23 Jason White, #33 Ron Hornaday, #62 Brendan Gaughan, #51 Colin Braun, #60 Cole Whitt. There were 13 lead changes among 10 drivers with 7 caution flags for 22 laps.
