The Big 10 in 2010...as good as we thought?
by Mark,posted Sep 28 2010 12:29PM
We heard so much going into this season that the Big 10 would be, "as good as they have been in a while." We were also told that maybe, just maybe, the Big 10 was the, "2nd best conference behind the SEC." Are they living up to that preseason billing? Im not quite sure yet. Ohio State, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Iowa do have solid teams, but the bottom of the conference has looked inept...i.e Purdue and Minnesota.
Iowa fell on the road to a ranked Arizona team. A team they frankly should beat, especially if they are considered an elite program in 2010. I called Iowa and Wisconsin overrated weeks ago, and still believe that to be the truth. Wisconsin is a team to watch though. Scott Tolzien brings experience. John Clay is the reigning Big 10 Offensive Player of the Year. Their team speed, especially on defense, will be the downfall of the Badgers though. Michigan's offense has looked strong, but the defense allowed 37 points to UMASS...an obvious weakness for them.
While the Big 10 has some solid teams, and strong programs, I still wont go as far as to say this will be an exceptional year for the Big Ten. Ohio State may go 12-0 and go to the BCS Championship Game, but last year's bowl season may end up being better than this year's for the conference. Only time will tell...
Remember your Denard Robinson comments before the season started?
Hey Makr- I guess you were way off on your Denard Robinson analysis prior ot the first game. You said he couldn't throw accurately and that he was not capable of being a college QB. I guess you were way off (as usual). I guess the experts were right when they said Pryor should have went to Michigan. Pryor is probably the #3 QB in the conference behind Stanzi and Robinson. I see why you are stuck in Dayton forever. Small market guy forever. Lots of opinions based on abritary dislikes. You still stink!
