Offsides with Christina

I’m a Pennsylvania native (but I'm not a Steelers or Eagles fan!) and have lived in the area for a couple years now. When I'm not working, I'm coaching swimming. If you want ask me a question, or don't like my blog, or just want to give me some coaching advice, I'd love to hear from you!

Time's Up Old Man

A lot can happen in a month, just ask Brett Favre.

A month ago, the biggest question in Favre’s life was whether or not the Minnesota Vikings would get to the Super Bowl.  Now, he’s got a world of problems and the Super Bowl isn’t even in the top ten.

Here’s a time-line of the past month for #4.

The biggest question through this entire process has been will Favre continue to play.

If Brett Favre has taught us anything it’s that he doesn’t know how to say goodbye.  Let’s be honest, Favre likes the attention.  He liked that his teammates had to come down to Mississippi and tell him they ‘needed’ him.  He likes the media and the constant speculation; he always has and he's trying desperately to draw attention away from Sterger and penis-gate.

Which is why the best thing he can do is - go away.  Favre needs to just retire, for good.  When the talk in the Vikings locker room is whether to bring in Tarvaris Jackson - who has only played in 33 games and has 21 career touchdowns - it's time to head home.

This season Favre is 2 and 4, with 7 touchdowns, 10 interceptions, and a 58% completion rate.  His head coach, Brad Childress, is starting to regret that drive to the airport.

After the loss on Sunday, he had this to say “You can’t throw it to them, you’ve got to play within the confines of our system. Sometimes it’s OK to punt the football. You can’t give seven points going the other way, not in a game like this.”

His head coach isn't happy with him, his fans aren't happy with him, his wife isn't happy with him, Wrangler isn't happy with him; is anyone happy with Brett Favre?

The time has finally come for Brett Lorenzo Favre to say 'I'm done' and never come back.
