#2 Pittsburgh Steelers: Great ownership and great fans that support this franchise, no matter what. That has been the cornerstone of one of the great franchises in American sports history. They win, but the Super Bowl era got off to a slow start for them. They hired Chuck Noll in 1969, and bottomed out...but that #1 draft choice in the 1970 Draft, Terry Bradshaw, Quarterbacked the franchise through it's greatest time. Throw in HOFers on offense like John Stallworth, Lynn Swann, and Franco Harris, and the Steelers were off and running. Oh yea, arguably the greatest defense in league history, the Steel Curtain, secured 4 Super Bowls in 6 seasons, with the last in 1979. A dip in the 1980's ushered in more success in the 1990's and 2000's. Bill Cowher and Ben Roethlisberger brought a 5th ring in 2005...another came in 2008 with Mike Tomlin. In all, 25 Steelers are in Canton in some capacity. They are the standard for stability and excellence in sports.
6 Super Bowls in 8 trips...26 playoff seasons...408-291-5 overall
