Triple Crown isn't enough anymore, huh?

It is interesting to hear the debate over who should win the American League MVP. Miguel Cabrera, Mike Trout...Mike Trout, Miguel Cabrera! One is a rookie phenom who is putting up Willie Mays-like numbers, while the other is a former rookie phenom putting up Ted Williams-like numbers. Either pick you can't go wrong, but only one is the true answer in my book.
In one corner, MIke Trout is doing things people don't see from rookies. He has 30 HRs to go with a batting average in the mid .330s and over 50 steals. He also has highlight reel catches all over on defense. He is trying to become only the 3rd rookie in MLB history to win MVP and Rookie of the Year in the same season. Fred Lynn did it for the Red Sox back in the 70's, while Ichiro did it while with Seattle less than a decade ago. It isnt unprecidented, but he isn't my choice.
In the other corner, you have the Detroit Tigers' Miguel Cabrera. All he is doing is leading the American League in all 3 Triple Crown statistics, looking to become the first player from the junior circuit to do it since Yaz in 1967. Cabrera actually LEADS the league in all those stats Trout is doing well in, and his team is in the playoffs. More than I can say for the 21 year old star of the future in Anaheim.
Trout will have his opportunities, but Cabrera is the man for me. A Triple Crown should be enough any season
