The WING Racing Report

Tune into The WING Racing Show, Monday Nights at 4pm

Viva Las Vegas for Edwards!!!

Drivers take a gamble in Vegas and it pays big for #99-Carl Edwards as he wins the “Kobalt Tools 400” Sprint Cup Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for his 1st win of 2011 and the 19th win of his career. He took the lead by taking two tires during green flag pit stops near the end of the race. #14 Tony Stewart, who dominated most of the race and lost the lead by taking 4 tires during his final pit, finished 2nd, followed by #42-Juan Montoya, #9-Marcos Ambrose, #39 Ryan Newman, #56 Martin Truex, Jr., #11 Denny Hamlin, #88 Dale Earnhardt, Jr., #22 Kurt Busch, and #83 Brian Vickers. Pole sitter #17 Matt Kenseth cut a tire early and battled back to finish 11th. Point leader coming into the race, #18 Kyle Busch lost an engine. He finished 38th.
Tony Stewart and Kurt Busch now share the points lead with 113 points. They are 7 points ahead of #99 Carl Edwards & #42 Juan Montoya.
There were 21 lead changes among 14 leaders with 7 cautions for 35 laps.

In The Nationwide Series it was#32-Mark Martin who won the “Sam's Town 300” at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the 49th win of his career. #31 Justin Allgaier finished second. #22 Brad Keselowski. Brad was in the lead at the white flag, but cut a tire down and hit the wall on the final lap; Mark Martin took the lead for the win. Brad stayed on track and finished 3rd. #7 Danica Patrick finished 4th, her career best and the best ever finish by a woman in the series. The rest of the top 10: #16 Trevor Bayne, #60 Carl Edwards, #20 Denny Hamlin, #6 Ricky Stenhouse, #38 Jason Leffler, and #09 Kenny Wallace (yes, I said Kenny Wallace…his second consecutive top 10). There were 6 cautions for 27 laps and 11 lead changes among 6 leaders.

My Driver Getting His Much Overdue....DUES!
Ryan Newman currently 5TH in points! About time he had some good luck. He's always been a great driver people, just not much good racing luck. You have to have that! He's got great cars to drive.
