Brittney Griner Due In Russian Court American basketball star Brittney Griner is due in court today for a preliminary hearing before her trial. Griner was arrested at a Moscow airport more than four months ago for cannabis possession. The Phoenix Mercury star could face ten years in prison if convicted on charges of large-scale transportation of drugs. Fewer than one-percent of defendants in Russian criminal cases are acquitted.
