2023 marks 100 years of the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, and the centennial celebrations continues this month with kite week!

From March 27 through April 2, bring the whole family to enjoy free admission to the museum and it’s celebration of flight. Bring along a kite, lunch, and blanket and take advantage of the space in the lawn to take to the skies.

From the event page:

Pack your kite, a picnic lunch, and blanket, and come fly your kite on the museum’s expansive front field!
The field will be open during regular museum hours, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., each day for you to show off your skills!
Parking is in the main visitor’s lot or the Air Park.
Designated flying areas will be clearly marked.
Don’t miss the chance to see PIGS Aloft Kite Club flying large show kites every day from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., weather permitting. (Federal Endorsement Not Implied)
