Dayton Summer Festivals You Don’t Want to Miss!
There are a ton of Summer festivals to check out around the area, some are not to miss and others, well let’s just say they’re not really calendar worthy. Here’s some help with navigation… A list of our picks (which are obviously the best picks, lol!) of festivals coming up…
5/20: FURRY SKURRY 5k– Stubbs Park, Centerville: This is so much more than a 5k with your furry friend! There will be food trucks, shopping, entertainment, live music and prizes. It’s Super Hero themed and there’s even prizes for best pet costume! Oh, and did we mention a Dog Bone Bar? Plus, (here’s where you tear up) all the proceeds go to homeless pets. LOVIN IT!
5/21: FLEUR DE FETE- Wine & Gourmet Food Festival– Carillon Historical Park: Sample more than 400 selections of wine while eating delicious gourmet bites from local restaurants. Ummm, sounds okay I guess. SIGN US UP!
6/3-6/4: OHIO VALLY INDIGENOUS MUSIC FESTIVAL– Patricia Allyn Park, Springboro: Now this is cool… A weekend of award winning music featuring the Native American flute, Native American arts & crafts, workshops, presentations and food. Take the whole family and learn something while having fun? Now there’s a unique idea!
6/3-6/4: TROY STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL– Historic downtown Troy: Strawberry Donuts. Need we say more? Okay, in case you live under a rock… There are vendors, crafts ( really good ones btw!), food, music and EVERYTHING STRAWBERRY you can imagine! It’s a must do staple around here.
6/10: YELLOW SPRINGS STREET FAIR– You don’t have to be a hippie to enjoy this one. Although, we love us some hippies! Over 200 vendors, two music stages, a beer garden, live street performers and of course all of the awesome shops & restaurants that already make Yellow Springs one of our favorite places to begin with. We’re wearing flowers in our hair if you want to follow suit…
6/17: CELTIC FEST– Ohio Renaissance Festival grounds in Waynesville: Rock out to some amazing Celtic music while enjoying traditional food and over 100 craft booths. We love a good Irish jig.
JUNETEENTH CELEBRATIONS– 6/17: Funk Fest at Eichelberger Amphitheater in Huber Heights and 6/18: Live music & vendors at Liberation Park in Dayton
And of course there are always the good ole church festivals with carnival rides, music, gambling tents & overpriced food that we all love! Here are a couple on our radar…
6/9-6/11- St. Christopher Summer Festival, Vandalia & St. Helen Spring Festival, Dayton ( We have no idea why it’s called “Spring Festival,” but if we can get an $8 funnel cake, who cares!
Yes, there will be more but we just don’t have all the answers yet so stop yelling at us!
