ESPN Bracketologist Joe Lunardi released his latest Bracketology report and he has one of our local teams going up against a blue-blood power house in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Lunardi has Wright State as a 15-seed going up against Roy Williams and his 2-seeded North Carolina Tar Heels in the first round.
If the Raiders make it to the Big Dance coming up, it would
be the first time in program history that Wright State qualified for the tournament in back-to-back seasons. Last year the Raiders were a 12-seed and they were knocked out of the tournament by 3-seed Tennessee in the first round.
WSU currently sits alone at the top of the Horizon League with an 18-11 overall record and are 12-4 in conference play. The Raiders will close out the regular season on the road with Green Bay on Thursday night and Milwaukee on Saturday night. If Wright State wins out, they will clinch their first ever outright Horizon League regular season title and will guarantee themselves a spot in the NIT if they don’t win the Horizon League Conference Tournament.
