MLB Opening Day vs NFL Week 1 – Which is a bigger deal?

Some look at MLB Opening Day as being a National Holiday. People call off work to head to the ball park for some of the early afternoon games while everyone else follows along on a radio or TV.

What about Week 1 of the National Football League season? After the NFL Draft, there is a huge drought of NFL or football happenings between April and when camp opens in August. By the time we get to week 1, everyone is starving for football.
