a question that has been debated for a long time…. should The Most Valuable Player come from a winning team? What about The Cy Young Award? Rookie of The Year too?

I’ll even toss in The Coach/Manager of The Year….

How can you give any award to a player on a last place team unless maybe the Rookie of The Year?? Even if the player led the league in a bunch of categories, the team still finished last so how valuable were they? If a pitcher wins 27 games for a last place team, is that different? If the award is only for a player with good stats then change the name to Player With The Best Numbers… I guess the question of should they play for a winning team will rage on… For me I think the winner should be at least on a team in contention or the value is really what? A pitcher to me is a different thing… If you can win 20 with a bad team then you deserve the award…

Okay, now it’s your turn to answer….
