Penn Station Athlete of the Month for May, 2019 – Emma Swabb

Congratulations to Emma Swabb of Brookville High School. Emma is the Penn Station Athlete of the Month for May, 2019!

Emma participates in Swimming and Volleyball and has a 4.05 GPA. Emma is the daughter of Karen and Rick Swabb and Sister of Matthew and Rickey Swabb.

Emma said her greatest achievement so far is being a 4-time state qualifier in swimming and holding all of Brookville’s women’s swimming records. After high school, she plans to further her academic and swimming career at Xavier University.

Emma said, “High school sports have allowed me to learn time management skills as well as allowed me to become friends with some amazing people. My older brother swam on a summer team when I as young and I decided to try it and I fell in love with swimming and have continued ever since.”

Emma’s role models are Missy Franklin and Ann Stammen. She said that Harry Potter is her favorite book and she loves the Philly Cheesesteak at the Englewood Penn Station.

Emma participates in Student Council and is a member of the National Honor Society.

Principal Christopher Bronner said, “It is a great honor to have Emma Swabb represent Brookville High School as the Penn Station Athlete of the Month. Swimming has been her passion for most of her life. Her dedication to her sport has paid dividends with her achievements in high school and will continue in college. Along with her success in swimming, Emma continues to be successful in the classroom, finishing up near the top of her class.”

Athletic Director Brian Sprada added, “Emma is a perfect representation of a student-athlete and well deserving of the Penn Station Athlete of the Month. Not only does Emma excel within her sport, but she is also an excellent student who prides herself on reaching her full potential. Among all of her success, Emma always maintains a healthy attitude about her performance and remains humble. She demonstrates sportsmanship not only within her team by supporting her teammates, but also in how she addresses and support athletes who are competitors. Emma is a kind, smart, successful student-athlete who has more success ahead of her not only in the pool but also in the classroom. I look forward to watching her success as an athlete, a student, and a well-rounded individual beyond high school.”
