White House Calls Griner A Priority White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre says WNBA star Brittney Griner’s continued detention in Russia is “a priority” for President Joe Biden and his administration. The comments come after a letter from the olympic champ to Biden was made public by Griner’s household. Griner was detained by Russian customs officers in February after airport safety providers officers reportedly discovered vape pods containing hash oil in her baggage. Griner’s family has alleged that the Biden administration has not given her case the attention it deserves attributable to Griner’s gender, race, and standing as an LGBT+ particular person. Is it ultimately Biden’s job to bring Griner home after she broke the law? Do you think Griner’s gender, race, and standing as an LGBT+ particular person is affecting Biden’s attention?
